James (Jim) Moore raised over $9,000 for his run from Pittsburgh to Washington on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail and the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal Towpath over five days from July 19 to 24, 2004.
As part of this effort, James sought donations to help fund breast cancer education and treatment programs. All expenses and labor for the run were donated so that all of the gross revenue went go to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization™, National Capital Area Affiliate in Alexandria, Virginia.
The Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization ensures that, through information, empowerment, and peer support, no one faces breast cancer alone. Y-ME has a 24 hour hotline for those diagnosed with breast cancer and offers support from volunteer breast cancer survivors to those facing treatment for the disease.
It is always time to make a donation to help fight this disease that, in some way, has touched so many of us. To make a donation go the the Y-ME Web site.
A huge thank you to all who donated to Y-ME to support Jim in his run.
